What is Vibroacoustic Therapy?

Vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) is a safe, drug-free, non-invasive approach to reducing pain and anxiety and improving quality of life. Whether you are suffering from work overload or are dealing with a serious medical condition, vibroacoustic therapy is a powerful modality that will help you relax and allow healing to take place.

Vibroacoustic therapy uses sound to produce vibrations that are applied directly to the body. During the vibroacoustic therapy process, a client lies on the specially designed mat or bed or sits in a chair that is embedded with speakers or transducers which transmit sound into vibrations that travel through the body in a soothing, healing motion that we liken to an "internal massage"

If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies..png

Vibroacoustic Therapy positively affects every level of Human Health

Composer: Owner of VibroSound Katherine Jameson

Using advanced technology & synchronised sound waves with healing frequencies - low-frequency vibrations are applied directly to the body - positively affecting at the cellular & molecular level. Creating an experience of total body relaxation.

As you lay on a Sound Lounge, your body is completely immersed in warm vibrations panning up and down to
- Relax muscles
- Release blockages in meridian system
- Rejuvenation of Chi/ Qi

Studies have shown that specific frequencies can regenerate tissues, bones, muscles and create an anti-inflammatory environment so your physical body can relax, heal & grow.

From the simple act of breathing, to healing wounds and tissue damage, the living body continuously uses energy at the cellular level. The body is always moving, and the microvibrations produced from the cells essentially retrieve energy and are involved in immunologic reactions. These biological occurrences produce rapid vibration in the body that will gradually decrease in speed after injury, intense physical stress, long-term fatigue, and time. The aim of vibroacoustic therapy is to restore the cellular energy lost over time, thus improving the overall health of the patient.

Vibroacoustic sound therapy has proven to have significant results benefiting human health both physiologically and mentally. The low vibrations increase cellular movement, thus increasing energy and cellular regeneration in the body.

  • Reducing stress

Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy has been studied by researchers worldwide including the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIH reports the benefits of using VAT for Parkinson’s, PTSD, anxiety, physical injuries, brain function, COPD, Asthma and more.

What to Expect at a VibroAcoustic Therapy Session

Clients remove only their shoes and lay on the Sound Lounge, once comfortable, the practitioner chooses the healing tracks based on the clients needs to address the issues indicated and turns on the amplifier to power the Sound Lounge.

You will begin to feel the gentle vibrational frequencies through the lounge can choose to either listen to the music through the surround sound speakers, or through headphones.

Your practitioner then leaves you in the room to relax, retune and rebalance for a session anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes. The relaxation response begins between 10-15 minutes and clients report feeling many pleasant sensations, emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Abstract thinking slows and body and mind awareness expands. Clients can expect to experience warm, gentle vibrations throughout the body as the vibrations pan up and down the body. Others fall asleep and begin to experience clarity and relief of pain or symptoms. Inducing a deep relaxation response.

The track gently fades out, where the client is encouraged to remain in the space of silence and integration, where the body is deeply relaxed and the vibrations begin to fade and the client gently returns to normal waking state.

The impact of a Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy session can be long lasting. Many reports include feeling as though a deep nights sleep has been had, decreased thoughts, and shifting into a rest and digest nervous system state.

How often should a client engage in VibroAcoustic Therapy sessions?

Research has revealed that best results occur with on-going treatments one or twice a week for a duration of 10-12 weeks, with a deeper space of healing occuring with daily sessions. The more time the body is allowed to engage in the rest and digest nervous system functioning, the easier it is to envoke these experiences in daily life.

Who should not opt for VAT treatment?

• Individuals with Pacemakers or those who are pregnant
• People with very low blood pressure
• People with a DVT, bleeding disorder, or recent surgery
• Individuals who have had a recent psychotic episode
